Hong Kong

I had to swap hosting companies and there was a bit of a stuff up in-between, hence the no website for a while thing. Sorry if you get two notifications to say that I've just posted an entry. We are trying to sort this problem out.
More importantly though... something I should let you know immediately. Ditch is very much alive and well. She has made a miraculous recovery. Nono has nursed her back to health and she is now running around. When she arrived at the vets, they said she had about 30 minutes to live. Nono was in a terrible state when she called. The vet said he could give her a shot, but it might very well kill her, but it might save her. I told him to just do it, do what needs to be done. She was then on an IV drip for 5 days, until they couldn't do it anymore. She didn't eat for 6 days and was like a rag doll?.

I was stuck in Hong Kong without a visa just hoping all would be ok. In a rush to get Ditch to the vets, her mum shut the door on Nono's ankle, causing it to swell up like a potato. The sick were taking care of the sick. Ditch has now got into the idea of being taken care of, even though she is more healthy. She knows now how to drop on her back, put her feet in the air and pretend she is dying, just to get picked up or pampered....... hilarious.
She has had a tough time in China over the last year. I have not been with her and she has severely missed that connection. She just needs love and lots of it. We will all be together again soon, as I'm going up there next week. After that I will return back to Hong Kong, then return once again in April. Need to find a place for her to stay in the meantime, for a couple of months whilst I finish off work.
Nono's auntie and uncle feel terrible that Ditch was sick on their watch. They think I should be angry with them.... To me though, all they have done is take care of Ditch the best they can and I am so grateful for that. They are farmers and have a lot of pressures, ones that I can't even imagine, and yet they still found the time to take care of her in my absence. It is very very cold in Shandong province at the moment, with some of the worst snow storms in 50 years predicted to hit soon. Ditch needs a lovely warm environment in her present condition....... but where ? Life will present something I am sure.
A special thank you to Pat and the Kansas Crew, and also Kira in Irkutsk for sending healing thoughts to Ditch. It worked very well indeed. Well Done. Thank you also to Tony the Vet for giving me some sound and very useful advice.
Right then. I feel a bit more relaxed now, knowing Ditch is on the mend and can continue on the journey. Talking of the April boost off. I have finally finished creating a China Wheelie Promo. Bill McQueen at National Geographic has been fantastic. Thank you Bill. Also a special thanks to Andy Stokes from Pixel 8 graphics and of course Marc & Chantal Design who have supported me throughout the journey. Without them, none of this would have happened. This is just a taster of what will eventually be a full documentary of the whole journey.......there is still a bloody long way to go.
You can view it in either of the following players. I'll post it up soon on the introduction page, once all the web transfer issues have been ironed out. Vimeo link is higher resolution, you can also click on either of them for a full screen playback (vimeo is better though)
